The Return solution requires a domestic return address, which is provided by the customer. Further handling after delivery to this address is managed by the customer.

Changes / Modifications
Via "MyConsignment" Swiss Post offers the recipient the following options:
- Receive SMS & email notifications
- Redirect parcels
- Define delivery including pick-up point delivery
- Define time windows
- Define deposit place
- Issue authorisation to avoid having to sign for parcel
- Manage failed deliveries
Failed delivery
If the parcel does not fit into the mailbox it will be:
- Delivered to the recipient directly or a person living in the same household
- Handed over to one of his neighbors
- Deposited at the entrance of the house or another suitable location
- Delivered to the nearest post office where it will be held and available for pick-up for 1 week.
- A pick-up note is left in the recipient’s mailbox advising them of where they can pick-up the parcel.
- If a parcel is not picked up at the branch it will be returned after 7 days.
- The recipient can extend the deadline or order a second delivery with Swiss Post via "MyConsignments".
Notifications & Tracking
Swiss Post offers both app, email and SMS notifications.
The shipments will be scanned when they arrive in Switzerland and at the delivery point. The tracking number ensures a seamless track and trace as well as a unique ID for customs clearance.

Customs clearance
Asendia offers customs clearance solutions and invoices duties and taxes to the customer. Parcels are injected in Swiss Post network customs cleared. Recipients do not have to pay any import taxes at reception of the item.
In addition to the provided data a commercial invoice is required. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the documents comply with the shipments. Customer's own format of bulk commercial invoice is allowed after confirmation.
As soon as the item is custom cleared, Swiss Post will provide the import documentation (XML format) by email to customer.
